From the article: What is the Best Beer?
I've never been able to answer this question. Oh, sure I kind of answered "what's your favorite beer" here but I have to admit that it's a cop out. There are just too many different kinds of beers and too many circumstances that influence whether or not I want a particular beer and why. Can you answer this question? Tell us about your favorite beer. What's your favorite?
For REAL Beer Aficionados...
- The only answer is Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout. Rich flavor, creamy texture, it's so delicious that it IS dessert. PS: Anyone who drinks Budweiser, Coors, Miller, Michelob, Corona, etc, is NOT a "beer aficionado".

Hands down...
- Best beer for me would be Rochefort 10, a very delicious big beer crafted by Belgians. How much better can you get?

Matt Brewery in Utica NY
- Just putting a word in for some local talent... and really great brewery. LOVED the (seasonal) Caramel Porter over the holidays, now I am getting into the Irish Stout and Red Ale. Don't overlook this brewery, great stuff coming out of Utica, NY.

after trying nearly 500 different beers
- I have travel around the world for different beers, having at least one bear from just about every nation. My favorite styles overall: IPA's and Porters Overall favorite: Rock Bottom Brewery @ the riverfront in Pittsburgh, PA - Raspberry Burbon Stout. This is a typical stout recipe that is age old oak barrels formerly used to age burbon, then fresh, ripe raspberries are added just before the beer is placed in the large serving tanks. It is also poured on a nitrogen tap. The Raspberry Burbon Stout has the full, creamy meal in a glass you'd expect from a stout, but the oakey burbon flavor is just enough to enhanse the beer beyond most stouts, and well balanced with the hint of fresh raspberries that is finishes very refreshing and clean. If you have dinner there, this beer is your dessert. If you don't have dinner first, two of these will do the trick! Awesome work by the Brewmaster; each Rock Bottom has their own on-site brewmaster.

Paulaner Hefeweizen
- Its a tough one, because certainly we crave different styles for different seasons. But Paulaner Hefeweizen is the gold standard for me in terms of a wheat beer that can be enjoyed in every season.
