Why did you start your beer blog?
I started Beer Epiphany as a way to share my craft beer experiences with the rest of the world. Each beer I try is a new experience and I try to share it all with my readers, and not just what I tasted and smelled. I also look at each beer I review from the perspective of how likely is it to give someone else a "beer Epiphany?" By this I mean, if someone not familiar with craft beer were to drink this brew, would it change their perspective on beer?
What do you cover in your blog?
I do full length beer reviews, posts on beer news, and commentary on any and all beer subjects. Each beer review consists of an introduction as to why I'm drinking it, a history of the beer/brewery, and any other relevant commentary. I then provide stats such as ABV, IBU. etc. before going into a full review. During the review I examine all attributes of the beer before ending with a score out of 100. I also provide a "Craft Beer Epiphany" percentage for each beer I review. It states what I think the chances are that this particular beer will introduce someone new to craft beer or change the way a current craft beer enthusiast appreciates beer.
Advice
- My best advice is to use sites like Twitter and Facebook to network your blog to as many people with similar interests as possible. Without twitter I would probably average have of the daily views I get.
