Make the Wort

© Bryce Eddings

Just like brewing a regular batch of beer, you’ll need to start with wort. Here, though, you’re only interested in providing lots of sugar for the yeast to feast upon so no hops nor adjuncts will be added. Put half a cup of dried malt extract into your sauce pan then add about a cup of water. Boil for a couple of minutes to make sure it’s sanitized keeping the lid on as much as possible to prevent too much evaporation. Watch out for boil overs!
