The good folks at Crown Imports sent me this recipe for michelada. There's lots of variations to the basic michelada so, let your creativity go with this one.
Crown handles the US imports of the Grupo Modelo line which includes Negra Modelo, a fine Mexican amber lager that you can use for an authentically Mexican michelada.
While any amber lager will do, as always, I encourage you to seek out a locally brewed beer and try it alongside or instead of a nationally distributed beer.

Prep Time: 4 minutes
Total Time: 4 minutes
Yield: 1 michelada
Ingredients:
- Ice
- Coarse salt
- Juice from one large lime
- Worcestershire sauce
- Hot sauce
- Soy sauce
- 1 12 ounce bottle of amber lager
- Jalepeño slice and/or cucumber slice for garnish
Preparation:
Salt the rim of a large, tall glass and fill with ice. Add the lime juice and the Worcestershire, hot and soy sauces to taste. Two drops each is recommended but go with what you like.
Fill the glass the rest of the way with the beer. Garnish with the jalepeño slice or the cucumber slice or both.
Odds are you won't empty the bottle so reserve what's left and keep adding as you drink it or just make a second michelada.
