Bread Machine Beer Crust Pizza Dough

I came up with this by marrying beer bread and pizza crust. This is a thick crust that rises up soft and bread-like.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 1/4 cups beer
  • 1 1/2 tbs Olive Oil
  • 1 1/2 tbs honey
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 tbs bran cereal like All Bran
  • 1/3 cup soy flour
  • 1 1/3 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 2/3 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 tsp gluten
  • 2 tsp yeast

PREPARATION:

This is a bread machine recipe so just add the ingredients in the order listed, put the machine on the dough setting and start it.

Prepare your toppings as you like or try my ultimate pizza toppings and preheat the oven to 400 degrees.

When the machine is done working take the dough with floured hands and stretch it out to a pizza crust - size and thickness to your taste. Remember this is a thick crust with yeast so the whole thing is going to rise, especially the edges.

Cook until the crust is brown and done, usually 15 to 20 minutes. Tap the risen edge. If it sounds hollow, it's done.
