The Bottom Line
From the brewer:
"Session beers are more about the social aspects of drinking and often involve great chat and live music. This beer is lower in alcohol but is packed with easy drinking character, a light golden ale with a dry crisp flavor and sweet hoppy aroma. A typical Scottish drinking session can last over 8 hours of drinking, chatting and singing but will not involve becoming heavily intoxicated.
"We recommend good hearty pub-style foods to be consumed during the session and strongly suggest a plate of haggis, neeps and tatties to balance this fresh ale (and yersel!)."

Guide Review - Tasting Notes and Review of Session Golden Ale from Williams Bros Brewing Co.
This golden ale is specifically designed to be a session beer. It has a very light profile and only 3.9% alcohol by volume.
I'm not sure that I would describe this beer as golden. The clear body is a few shades shy of golden. A medium white head rose as the I poured it from the bottle then fell away fairly quickly.
The nose is delicate and mostly grainy sweet. There are some interesting spicy/floral notes but nothing one could call hoppy - more woodsy.
The flavor is much the same - light, sweet but balanced and almost engaging. Very little lingers on the tongue. This ale carries a bit more body and flavor than many of the light lagers out there. Enjoyable.
