The Bottom Line
I used to drink quite a lot of Tsingtao but haven't had any for years. It was nice, therefore, to get a couple of bottles to sample from the Chinese brewer. It's good to get reacquainted with an old friend!

Guide Review - Tasting Notes and Review of Tsingtao Lager Beer
Tsingtao's lager poured clear and pale yellow. The thick, white head held on for a few minutes before collapsing completely. Its nose is sweet with subtle notes of pear and hay. The first taste is sweet with a light lager smack at the end and an apologetic hint of hops. The hops sit on the tongue, though, and build a bit making the second drink fairly well balanced and enjoyable. By the third drink I was thoroughly enjoying this brew. It's softer than a German pilsner but certainly has more character and flavor than most American lagers.
