Guide Review - Tasting Notes and Review of Magic Hat's Odd Notion Autumn '09
This is a black beer. There's no light getting through this one - black, black, black. The brown head doesn't hang around for long but one hardly notices next to the light sucking body of this beer. It's nose is sweet with bready notes of chocolate cake. On the tongue this beer presents a velvety chocolate-sweet profile that lingers for a moment. Eventually a coffee-like bitterness takes over without completely replacing the dessert-like quality. This is a rich, spicy beer and one worth spending some time getting to know.
