The Bottom Line

I'll have another! This beer is really quite good. This summer seasonal has a nice flavor with spicy, fruity notes. I was convinced upon tasting it and before reading the literature which accompanied the sample sent to me that it was brewed with orange peal but it is just the right combination of malt and hops.

From the brewer: Beach Bum Blonde Ale is a tradtional American blonde at with a slightly spicy hop note and balanced malty flavor. It is brewed with Cascade hops from the Pacific Northwest and Alsace and Hallertau hops from southern Germany.

Pros

  • Spicy character
  • Nice summer--time sipper

Cons

  • Too sweet

Description

  • 5.4% ABV
  • Nice summer seasonal ale
  • Very drinkable

Guide Review - Tasting Notes and Review of Beach Bum Blonde Ale from Anheuser Busch

Beach Bum pours with a medium white head and hangs around for awhile before falling away to a thin film. The beer is clear and golden approaching copper in color. The nose is sweet with fruity notes like sliced oranges. In the mouth it has a rather thicker mouthfeel than I'm used to with AB beers. It is quite sweet but with some spiciness, some tanginess and a nice little hops touch at the end of the drink.
