The Bottom Line

It's generally well known that Stone Mill Pale Ale is an Anheuser-Busch product. Along with Wild Hop Lager it is part of the "Green Valley Brewing Company." As a result it's taken some time to finally taste this particular beer. It's $8.99 in my area, which I'm not opposed to paying for a six pack of good beer, but seems like too much to pay for what I expected would be a watery, one-dimensional beer. I was quite pleased to be wrong.
Pros
  • Enjoyable pale ale
Cons
  • A bit sweet for my taste but still good for the style

Description

  • Sweet but enjoyable pale ale
  • Organic
  • 5.5% ABV

Guide Review - Stone Mill Pale Ale - Tasting Notes and Review of Anheuser Busch's Stone Mill Pa

This pale ale is a clear, copper color. It pours with a medium, white head. The nose is sweet with notes of caramel and hints of apple and subtle hops. The beer is a little low on carbonation. The flavor is dominated with sweet caramel flavors though a significant hops flavor provides some balance. This is actually a pretty good pale ale if a bit sweet. It is easily the best A-B product that I've had.
