Descriptions of the color of this beer were golden to light amber. The nose produced a range of responses from no smell to yeasty to flowery. There was more agreement over the flavor. Most reported that it was bitter. Wood and pepper notes were also detected. Though a couple of tasters really enjoyed this beer, most preferred New Belgium's Saison for the style category.
