The panel found this beer to be dark and black although one taster noted that it is a little more translucent than Bell's Kalamazoo Stout. The aroma was subtle and described as coffee like, malty, beerish and fresh. The panel found the flavor to be heavy malt with nice hops. Some other descriptors were dark, heavy, almost sour, dry, bitter, awakening, fruity and husky.
