Guide Review - Tasting Notes and Review for Samuel Adams Holiday Porter

Holiday Porter pours black and obtuse, even when held up to the light. The head that forms is a little weak and short but its tan color holds promise of good things to come. The aroma of this porter is subtle with hints of roasted barley. Holiday Porter has a smooth mouthfeel and a slightly smokey sweet quality at the very beginning of the taste. This gives way to a really bitter finish that's as much black barley as it is hops. This bitterness lingers on the tongue.

It could be that I enjoyed this beer so much because all of the others in the Winter Classics pack were on the sweet side. Have you tried this one? Share your impressions of it on the Samuel Adams Holiday Porter thread in the forum.
