The Bottom Line
If you're looking for a lambic, this is not the beer for you. It is an interesting blend of lambic-like qualities. The tang of the cranberries and full mouthfeel make it enjoyable in the same way but it lacks the depth of character of a true lambic.
Pros
- Tangy, full mouthfeel
Cons
- Not a true Lambic
- A bit too juicy
Description
- Effervescent
- Juicy!
- 5.9% ABV
Guide Review - Tasting Notes and Review of Samuel Adams Cranberry Lambic
Cranberry Lambic pours with a medium white head atop a clear, light copper body. The nose has that woody hops quality of so many Sam Adams beers with some indistinct berry quality lying underneath. The first thing I notice when I tasted this beer was the effervescence. This is one bubbly beer! After I got around that I noted the tang of the cranberries and some malt that was quickly overwhelmed by a big sweet, juicy character - not overtly cranberry flavored, just sweet and juicy. Everything else falls away before this juiciness. It was as if some prankster emptied a juice box into my beer.
