Guide Review - Redhook India Pale Ale - Tasting Notes and Review
This IPA is pale with some hints of copper in the color. The aroma is packed with citrusy hops. It's flavor is the same - dominated by citrusy hops and bitterness. There is no hint of malt on the tongue.
Redhook's India Pale Ale fits the profile of the typical American craft brewed IPA. From the moment it's served it whacks you in the face with very a aggressive citrusy aroma typical of Cascade hops. This isn't wrong for the style but it is rather uninteresting. To be fair, Redhook's IPA is one of the oldest in the American craft brew landscape and when the first introduced it in the '80s it must have been quite exciting.
