What the Brewery Says...
"The Beast is a seducer - accommodating, complicated, powerful, dark and created to last the ages. With a deep burgundy color and aromas of honey, nutmeg, mandarin orange and pineapple, this massive and challenging brew has flavors akin to a beautiful Caribbean rum. Dates, plums, raisins and molasses are dominant in a rich vinous texture. Cellarable for 10+ years."

Kyle Sanders - 4.5 out of 5

Aroma – Raisins, honey, and cinnamon.

Appearance – Deep red, clear, with moderate head retention and medium carbonation.

Flavor – This is a beautifully made beer with a rich malt flavor that will be sitting on your tongue long after you’ve finished drinking. Warming alcohol is noticeable but not so dominant as to drown out the complex flavors. The hops serve here to balance the beer and are never over-powering, resulting in a dangerously drinkable brew. Flavors I detected include raisins, honey, and cinnamon. You will most likely find many other flavors hiding here. The truth is this is put together so well, I just want to drink it rather than over-analyze it.

I would rate this 9 out of 10, simply because this tasting was conducted in 2 sessions 2 weeks apart and the first beer did not quite match up to what I’m experiencing tonight. The first beer did not balance and blend nearly as well. I am not sure why this would be, but my impression at the time was that it would benefit from being allowed to mature. I doubt 2 weeks made a difference, but this beer can tolerate some aging and I’d like to see how it develops with time.

Highly recommended for true beer lovers only.
