Bud Light Lime

Thursday February 14, 2008
A year after Miller’s run away success with Miller Chill Anhueser-Busch is coming out with Bud Light Lime. The idea of the cleverly named brew is – and see if you can follow this – Bud Light with lime added to it.

Pretty stunning, right?

I’m a little surprised by this move. AB has seemed reluctant to mess with their flagship beers lately. When they’ve wanted to dabble in “weird beers” they’ve invented brands and sometimes even breweries to carry them. Perhaps the wild success of Chill last summer has given AB a level of comfort with this particular bit of weirdness.

Oh well, let’s all grab a good ale and sit back to enjoy the storm of marketing for Bud Light Lime that’s soon to come roaring our way.

Got a favorite? Take the poll - Bud Light Lime vs. Miller Chill.

It is really good!!!! Im a salesman in Nashville TN and I try 2 bottles last night. The flavor is really good and it has 4.2% abv. Is very diferent then Miller chill, Miller chill is a copy of a mexican reciepe”chellada” wich include salt. The bud light lime is mix with 100% lime juice. When you drink it you can feel the lime but not having the after taste like the salt. Wait to be on the market on this month!!!!

I feel a little bit reassured by the two previous comments. But then again, they do work for, in some way or another, AB. I tried Miller Chill out of pure curiosity. The lime was over-the-top, and the salt just threw me off completely. I hope this Bud Light Lime has just a hint of lime. Something refreshing and light, but not distracting like Miller Chill, would be very nice for the summer.

Bryce,
“Miller’s run away success with Miller Chill?” Seriously, have you even tried the Miller Chill beer? It’s horrible. Although I have not been able to try the BL Lime yet, I am looking forward to it. I oftain try new beers to break away from ordinary, and I am not affraid to even try competative brands (Yes, I am an AB employee), but I am honest about the beer I drink and its not always Bud or Bud Light. I am mearly a fan of Beer. In So. Cal I would hardly call Miller Chill a “Success,” especially when I see retailers often complain about it taking up room on their shelves. I may be biased because I work for AB, but I wont drink a beer just because we make it, distribute it or import it. I drink it because I like it.

I liked it a lot…I was expecting to hate it. It’s not as good as Corona but not bad at all. I will buy it again for sure.

Lime beer sucks, period. Can we move on to some real craft beer?

They both suck as does everything else from AB and Miller. Big brewery clowns think every likes crappy beer.

very good beer.never liked miller light because of the aftertaste so i assume the chill must be the same.bought a six pack of BLLime [in case], had a couple of coronas light in the fridge .frist swig of bud light lime put the bottle down and went back to the packy to buy more.didnt touch any of the coronas. Also its a lot better than bud light.SO it looks like the coronas are out of my rotation

This beer is great! I am drinking one right now. I would never have tried this unless a friend told me about it and I’m glad he did.
