My Goodness, My Guinness...Is Gone!
Thursday November 29, 2007
In a crime reminiscent of one in Canada a few months ago, a shipping trailer full of kegs of beer was stolen off a lot at the Guinness brewery in Dublin yesterday.
A man drove a truck on the lot, hooked up the trailer and left with it. According to the BBC he made off with 400 kegs total - 180 kegs of Guinness, 180 kegs of Budweiser and 90 kegs of Carlsberg.
The haul is worth about 64,000 euros but I have to wonder how much he'll actually realize. Assuming that he gets away with it, where and to whom could one sell 400 kegs of hot beer?
