Beer Does Not Equal Stupid

This review of the TV show "My Name Is Earl" is perhaps the clearest example of the presumption that beer drinkers are stupid that I've seen. If I weren't such a dumb beer drinker myself I might even be offended by it.

After reading this article I began wondering if the author, Dave Shiflett, is just another lazy journalist embracing an easy cliche or if this hate of beer and those that drink it is part of a larger pattern. Much to my surprise I found Dave Shiflett on Beer in which he claims to be a homebrewer and apparent lover of good beer. "...drinking stout is required of all civilized persons," he says.

So I guess he's just one of us beer-guzzling dopes.
