Cerveza and Beer Salt

Sunday March 25, 2007
I posted tastings of a couple of popular Mexican beers. The main reason for this was so I could also post my review of Twang beer salt. I'd never heard of the stuff before but when I came across some I had to give it a try. Check out my reviews:

This stuff is very popular in Louisiana and a few other places in the deep South. Also popular (and bizarre, to my yankee tastebuds) is the practice of drinking cheap domestic beer from a can (10-oz. cans in Louisiana, of course) and sprinkling salt on the top of the can, so you get just a taste of salt with every sip.

Not my cup of tea, but interesting nonetheless!
