Picnic Recipe Exchange - Low Fat Cooking

Thursday June 29, 2006
Today’s recipe exchange comes from our Low-Fat Cooking Guide. My favorite beer for dishes like this cold pasta salad and fruit salad is Berliner weisse. Berliner Kindl makes an excellent weisse. Many fans of this style like to add a touch of woodruff syrup or some other sort of sweetener to take the edge off of the sour. Personally, I like it just the way it is.

Recipe Exchange- Picnic Recipes
For your next picnic or pot-luck, try out this low-fat version of a traditional picnic staple- Low Fat Macaroni Salad . And this Tropical Fruit Salad is a summer delight with the island flavors of pineapple and mango. Our guide to Low-Fat cooking suggests adding a fat-free whipped topping or some low-fat yogurt if you like, but it is delicious on its own too.

Bryce,
Thanks for the low fat cooking recipes and the pairing of the Berliner Kindl. I’m with you…I like it just the way it is!
